Who?

Park Street is owned and exclusively operated by Alex Nicoll, a restaurateur, bar owner, hotelier and graduate of Oxford Brookes University. After Oxford Brookes  (Oxford Poly then) Alex (42) went to Hilton Hotels for ten years. Starting in Sales he rose through front of house and food beverage operations to become General Manager of a 240 bedroom airport location hotel. In 1997 he gave all of that up to start his own gastro style pub with rooms business in Ironbridge Shropshire.  By 2004 he had opened and developed 6 sites in the area, both leasehold, freehold and management contract businesses. He successfully launched two tax efficient Enterprise Investment Schemes which resulted in significant tax free capital gains for investors. Since then he has gradually sold his interests in the more successful businesses. Sadly not everything works in every location and he has also gone through the pain of a business failing.

Today he still operates The Malthouse in Ironbridge www.themalthouseironbrdge.com  and advises clients on purchases and developments. In addition he his building a network of other support services and advisers to the catering industry.

Alex Nicoll is a Member of the Institute of Hospitality.
